A great book titled: Rufus Porter, Yankee Pioneer written by Jean Lipman, Copyright 1968, Crown Publishers describes the life achievements of this most interesting man. Many of his color murals are shown as well.

Future topics include Porter's work as painter, maker of silhouettes, teacher of music and dance, his genealogy, patents, founder and editor of 4 different weekly magazines and an expanded section on his attempt to build an airship to traverse the country in 3 days.

Watch these pages for forthcoming additions. I have much more material than time to prepare it for these pages. Please tell me something you have or know about Rufus Porter. updated April 3rd, 2007
